Stuck

Full Poem:

Stuck

in a sticky situation

your hair sticks to your lollipop

A cat stuck in a tree

Raspberry seeds stick in your teeth

Stuck on a math problem 9x-7i>3(3x-7u)

in a dead relationship

Stuck between a rock and a hard place

Stuck in a place not quite foreign, not quite home

Flies stick on spiders’ webs

Words stuck in your throat

Stuck between sides

between a sibling and parent fighting

You’re stuck in the past

That song’s been stuck in my head all day!

While I was carving, a splinter got stuck in my finger

Stuck in tradition

Stuck somewhere between self-respect and forgiveness

Memories stuck against the wall

Stuck inside

Stuck not knowing what to do

Stuck in the same argument

on the hedonic treadmill

between choosing peace or courage

sleep or one more episode

between fixing a broken home

or moving somewhere new, somewhere better

Stuck whispering affections

Life moves on, but I’m still stuck on you
